  2. Navigate to the folder where the problematic video is saved.
  3. Right-click on the file and select Rename.
  4. Rename the file to .MPEG or MOV format. For example, if your file name is samplevideo.MP4, then rename it to samplevideo.MPEG.
  5. Try importing the renamed video to your Adobe Premiere Pro timeline and check if the issue is resolved.

2. Use Windows Photos app to encode video

If the issue persists, try encoding the video using the built-in Windows 10 Photos app. Trimming and saving the video from the Windows 10 Photos in MP4 format seem to have resolved the issue for many users.

  1. Open File Explorer and navigate to the folder with the video.

  3. In the Photos app, click the Edit and Create option.

  4. Next, under Background Processes, locate the QT32 Server process.

  6. Once both the process are closed, close the task manager.
  7. Try to relaunch Adobe Premiere Pro and check if the program loads without any issues.

The Adobe QT32 is a QuickTime process and, at times, can create conflict with the program. This usually happens if Premiere Pro crashes while working with a DIF file or if your antivirus is blocking the connection.


2. Remove QuickTimeHost files

If the issue persists, try removing the QuickTimeHost importer and exporter files from the installation folder. Here is how to do it.

  1. Open File Explorer.
  2. Navigate to the following location:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder CC 2015\Plug-ins\Common

    ExporterQuickTimeHost.prm
