    Flush DNS and Reset Connections Completely (Mac/PC)

    You have changed DNS server address of your website and now when trying to load the new address your browsers redirects to the same old server. It happens because of the cache data in your browser or network.

    When you flush DNS, a fresh connection will be initiated, and the browser will load fresh pages of any website or blog.

    Note: At times only flushing the DNS won’t resolve the error. In such situation, you may have to change the DNS server address to solve the problem.

    How to Flush DNS and Reset Connections in Windows

    Step 1: At first, open command prompt on your PC. In order to open the command prompt, press Windows + R on your keyboard, and type cmd and press Enter.

    Step 2: Now in command prompt, type the following:

    ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.

    Step 3: Now type command ipconfig /release and press Enter.

    Step 4: After that, type command ipconfig /renew and press Enter.

    Step 5: Finally, type command netsh winsock reset  and press Enter.

    Step 6: Once done, Reboot/Restart your computer.

    Note: In some cases, you may need to open the command prompt as administrator. To do so in Windows 7, Go to Programmes, under Programmes go to Accessories, select command prompt, right click and select Run as Administrator.

    For Windows 8/8.1/10, click Cortana/Search bar and type cmd and select Run as administrator.

    That’s all you need to do. Just by following this steps you will be able to flush DNS and reset connections completely in your Windows PC.

    Flush DNS and Reset Connections in Mac

    Step 1: First of all, close down all the opened programs including web browsers.

    Step 2: Now go to Applications.

    Step 3: In Applications, Go to Utilities.

    Step 4: In Utilities, Go to Terminals.

    Step 5: Now under Terminal window, type

    • sudo discoveryutil mdnsflushcache for OS X 10.10 (Yosemite).
    • sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder for OS X 10.7 – 10.9
    • sudo dscacheutil -flushcache for OS X 10.6 and older

    Step 6: Now your DNS will be flushed, and connections will completely reset.

    2 Ways to Take Ownership (Full Permission) of a Registry Key in Windows 10

    There are times when you may need to edit one of the registry keys in Windows 10. However, Windows protects some registry keys by not granting full permission to the users and administrators. To make any modification to these keys, you need to take ownership of that particular key.  here is how to take ownership of a registry key in Windows 10.

    Why you need full permission to edit a registry key? suppose you want to remove the Quick Access icon from the navigation pane in File Explorer. To make that happen you need to edit a registry key in the registry editor requires that you take ownership of the key before you can edit it. Whenever you want to edit, modify, delete, create a new registry key, or its value that is protected by Window, you can do so by taking ownership of the key. If not, Windows will show the following errors:

    Error Deleting Values

Unable to delete all specified values
    Error Editing Value

Cannot edit value. Error writing the value’s new contents
    Error Renaming Value

The Registry Editor cannot rename value. Error while renaming value
    Error Creating Key

Cannot create key: You do not have the requisite permissions to create a new key under key
    Error Creating Value

Cannot create value: Error writing to the registry

    If you encounter any of the following error, it means you don’t have full permission to make changes to the registry key or its values.

    There are two ways to take ownership of registry keys. You can assign full permission to a registry key from the registry editor or use the Command Prompt with SetACL to do the same.

    Method 1: Take Ownership Using Command Line (SetACL)

    SetACL makes it easy to grant full permission to any registry key in Windows 10. It is a third-party utility, and you need to download it onto your computer before you can use it.

    1. Download SetACL from here. Make sure you download the executable (.exe) version for the administrator.

    2. Extract the downloaded file, and it will have both 32-bit and 64-bit version exe files. You need to use the version that is compatible with your PC.

    3. Move the SetACL.exe file to C:\Windows\System32 folder. Simply copy and paste the file.

    Note: It is not mandatory to move the SetACL.exe file to the Windows root folder as suggested above, but doing so will allow you to run the SetACL tool from anywhere without having to enter the path again and again while using the command prompt.

    4. Open Command prompt as Administrator. To do this, press Windows key + X and select Command Prompt (Admin) from the options.

    SetACL -on name -ot type -actn action

    6. Hit Enter ↵ to execute.

    7. Now you need to enter two commands followed by the registry key of which you want to take ownership. You need to change the registry key in the following command and keep everything else as it is. See the example below and later proceed with the command.

    Example of the Registry Key to want to take Ownership: 

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{018D5C66-4533-4307-9B53-224DE2ED1FE6}

    Command 1: It will make the administrator as the owner of the registry key.

    SetACL.exe -on "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{018D5C66-4533-4307-9B53-224DE2ED1FE6}" -ot reg -actn setowner -ownr "n:Administrators"

    Command 2: It will grant full permission to the administrator for the registry key.

    SetACL.exe -on "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{018D5C66-4533-4307-9B53-224DE2ED1FE6}" -ot reg -actn ace -ace "n:Administrators;p:full"

    That’s it. Now that you have taken ownership of the registry key, you can proceed to edit the key.

    Method 2: Take Ownership Using the Registry Editor

    This is the old school way to take the permission of any registry key in Windows 10 and other versions.

    1. Open Registry Editor by pressing Windows key + R, type regedit and hit enter.

    2. Navigate to the registry key that you want to take ownership of and Right-click on it.

    3. Select the Permissions option.

    4. In the permissions for the display window, click Advanced.

    8. Again in the “Permissions for Display window“, select your username and check the “Full Control” option in the “Allow” section.

    This should give you the full permission on the registry key.

    How to Fix ”Microsoft Outlook Stuck on Loading Profile” Problem

     Today in this guide you will learn how to fix the error ”Microsoft Outlook Stuck on Loading Profile”. Microsoft Outlook is one of the most useful apps in the Windows OS. It helps you in many ways like managing your email systematically, managing calendar and so on.

    People like using Microsoft Outlook due to its friendly user interface. But sometimes you may face various problems using Microsoft Outlook. Some of the users are facing a common error that results in ‘Microsoft Outlook Stuck on Loading Profile” and users have been complaining about it.

    If you are an Outlook user and facing the similar kind of error as mentioned above, then this guide may assist you to overcome this problem. There are different methods to solve this error, so follow the below given methods to solve this error. Also read, enable hibernation option in Windows 10.

    Method 1: Outlook Inbox Repair Tool

    Firstly you can try this method to solve this error. This repair tool is very useful and may help you to overcome this problem.

    Step 1: Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16. It may be different due to the office version. You can use Office16 if you are using Office 2016.

    Step 2: Look for SCANPST.EXE file and open it.

    Step 3: Now you can select nst / pst file from here  C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook.

    Step 5: Now press the Start button.

    Step 6: Now if you see a Repair button, click on it.

    That’s all you need to do. I think you should have solved the error of Microsoft Outlook Stuck on Loading Profile successfully.

    Method 2: Disable Outlook Add-ins in Safe Mode

    If the above method didn’t work for you, then no need to worry, you can try this method to solve this error.

    Step 1: Press Win+R, and it should open Run dialogue box.

    Step 2: Now type command outlook /safe and press Enter.

    Step 3: Now you will enter into the Microsoft Outlook desktop app under safe mode.

    Step 4: Now at the bottom left of the Outlook window, click the three dots and select Navigate option.

    Step 5: In Navigate option, go to Control

    Step 6: In Control go to Add-ins.

    Step 7: Now you will see a Manage option at the bottom of the page, beside that choose COM-Addins and beside that click on the option Go.

    Microsoft Outlook 2013 Users do this instead: Click File > Options > Add-ins (left pane) > select COM Add-in in Manage section at the bottom and click Go.

    Once you are done, you will see all the Add-ins in a new window. Now you can disable any of the Add-ins, which you think may be the reason for the error you are facing. Or else you can just disable one by one Add-ins and find out the real culprit.

    Uncheck one by one all the add-ins until the error is resolved. You should able to resolve the error and get the Outlook working without any errors. If that also did not work, try other given solutions.

    Method 3: Delete Outlook Profile

    If any of the methods didn’t work for you, then try deleting your Outlook profile. Deleting your Outlook profile may help you to solve this error. In order to delete your Outlook profile follow the below given easy steps.

    Step 1: Go to Control Panel.

    Step 2: In Control Panel, choose Users account.

    Step 3: Now click on Mails.

    Step 4: In Mails, select Show Profiles.

    Step 5: Now you can delete your existing profile, and try relaunching Microsoft Outlook. Upon the relaunch, you should get the Microsoft Outlook running and the stuck on profile logo error should be resolved by now.

    If this doesn’t fix your problem, you can try deleting your Profile from Registry. If you are unaware of it, then follow these steps.

    Step 1: Press Win+R simultaneously, it will open Run dialogue box.

    Step 2: Now type the command regedit and press enter.

    Step 3: Now under Windows Registry Editor, Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER.

    Step 4: Go to Software.

    Step 5: In Software Go to Microsoft.

    Step 6: In Microsoft Go to Office.

    Step 7: In Office Go to Profiles.

    Step 8: Now you can find the Outlook folder and just Right click on it and Delete.

    Alternatively, there is one more method to delete the Outlook profile in Windows PC. Here is how to do it.

    Step 1: At first Open RUN by pressing Windows Key + R.

    Step 2: Type this command  %LOCALAPPDATA%\MIcrosoft\Outlook and hit enter.

    Step 3: Simply find out your Profile and Delete it.

    Method 4: Clean Boot Check In

    Nothing seems working? No need to get frustrated, there are still some methods available that can help you resolve this error. Using this method, you can try opening Outlook desktop app in clean boot state.

    For example, If a third party app is involved in it, then you will not be able to troubleshoot this error. So you can try uninstalling or disabling recently downloaded apps or any other types of software. Yes, this method is a little annoying as no one likes to install and remove their software again and again. But this may lead to solving the error Microsoft Outlook stuck on loading profile issue.

    Method 5: Try Disabling Hardware Graphic Acceleration

    Step 1: At first open Microsoft Outlook in Safe mode as I shown you in the method 2.

    Step 2: Now under Safe mode go to File.

    Step 3: In File Go to Options.

    Step 4: In Options Go to Advanced.

    Step 5: Now look for Disable Hardware Graphics Acceleration under Display section and hit on OK.

    Step 6: Now try launching Microsoft Outlook in general mode.

    That’s it! This might fix your problem.

    Method 6: Try Repairing Microsoft Office

    I think till now you should have solved the error, however, if you are looking for an alternative method, then you can try this last method in this guide, which may help you to solve the error.

    Step 1: A Right Click on Start Menu.

    Step 2: In Start Menu click on Programmes and Features.

    Step 3: Now look for Microsoft Office and a Right Click on it.

    Step 4: Now select the Change option.

    Step 5: You can choose any of the options among two, Quick Repair or  Online Repair

    Step 6: I recommend you to choose the quick repair option first, in case it fails to repair, you can try the other option  that is Online Repair

    Any of this two repair can successfully repair your Microsoft Office, thus if your Microsoft office is repaired, automatically Microsoft Outlook is also repaired.

    Windows 10 Connect app allows the users to project their Android smartphone onto their Windows PC screen. This is a convenient way of watching your favorite shows on a bigger screen.

    However, many users are unable to connect their Android phones to Windows 10 PC’s connect app. After taping on connect, the Connect app shows the following on the screen.

    “PC ready for you to connect Wirelessly. Protected connect cannot be viewed on this device”.

    If you are also troubled by this issue, here is how to fix it and successfully project your Android wireless display to Windows 10 Connect app.

    Steps to fix Connect app not working with Android Wireless Display

    1. Disable Windows Defender Firewall

    So the fix that worked and allowed us to cast an Android device to Windows 10 Connect app was to disable the Windows Defender Firewall.

    The Firewall is an essential part of your computer, however, while casting is in progress you can turn it off and turn it back on when required.

    1. On your Windows system, click on Start and select Settings.
    2. Click on Update and Security.
    3. Click on Windows Security from the left pane.
    4. Open “Firewall and Network Protection”.

    5. Click on “Domain Network” and turn off the Windows Firewall.

    6. Next, select “Private Network” and turn off the Windows Firewall as well.
    7. Do the same for “Public Network” as well.

    8. Relaunch the Connect app.
    9. On your Android device, go to Settings > Wireless Display.
    10. Tap on your PC name to connect.

    Disabling the Windows Defender Firewall should help you to fix the Connect app not working with the Android Wireless Display issue.

    However, make sure you enable Windows Defender Firewall once again after disconnecting the device.

    2. Install Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter

    If the issue persists, try installing Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter from the Microsoft Store.

    1. Install Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter from here.
    2. Wait for the adapter to install.
    3. Restart the computer and open the Connect app.
    4. Try connecting the Wireless display from your Android smartphone.

    This method may not work for everyone and has a very slim chance of working. However, do give it a try to resolve the issue.

    3. Update Windows firmware

    If the issue persists, try updating the Windows OS to the latest version. Microsoft releases KB update frequently to fix bugs and performance issues.

    1. Click on Start and select Settings.
    2. Go to Update and Security.

    3. Under Windows Update, make sure the latest update is installed.
    4. If not, download and install the pending updates.

    The Connect app in Windows 10 makes it easy to project your Android phone onto the PC. You can watch multimedia content, stream videos and browse the web and also play games.

    You can resolve the Windows 10 Connect app issue with Android Wireless Display by disabling the Windows Defender Firewall.

    However, if the issue does not resolve the first time. Restart both your Windows 10 computer and the Android phone and try again.
